What an incredible couple of days I had in New York. I am still a bit overwhelmed by all the inspiring people I met, the things I learned and the cool places I discovered. I will tell you all about it next week!
I am back in my beloved Barcelona now and I had some time to read through some of your confessions over the weekend. After an exciting trip like this, I always like to spend some time doing things that make me feel comfortable to remind me of what really matters the most while I process my experiences.
After all these years of working on XConfessions and producing and directing movies – reading your confessions is still one of my favourite things to do. I get inspired by your stories everyday and when I have to make big decisions or develop a new project I try to keep in mind that this is how it all began and that I started Erika Lust to make the porn you want to see.
XConfessions is a crowd-sourced project where everybody can anonymously submit their fantasies. Creating a safe space, where sex positive adults can get together to talk about their desires is still my number one priority.
This project is and always will be my baby that I care about the most (apart from my two human babies, of course 
), so I decided that I should show you and XConfessions some love. I sat down and put together some tips and tricks on how to write the perfect confession. Accompanied by some funny pictures I found on my computer that I did for a campaign in 2017.

No matter how hot your confessions is – if you don’t comply to our basic rules, there is no chance it will make it past my content team.

- Please keep you confession limited to the 2069 characters allowed
- We love twisted, but we draw the line at illegal behaviour!
- There is no space for discrimination of any kind on XConfessions. Any racist, misogynist, homophobic, transphobic, violent content will be deleted, no questions asked.
Take your time to get inspired and find the right words
I have written several books and believe me, if anyone knows how hard it can be to find the right words to describe what’s in your head – it’s me. This process takes time and can be frustrating, but don’t rush yourself. The right thing to say is somewhere in your mind and will come to you eventually.
When I write any erotic content, I always try to remember the goal is to build up sexual tension, create a setting the reader can envision and take chances! I love very detailed, written descriptions of sex scenes. Just like filming sex, writing about it is an art in itself!
Allow yourself to get inspired by other writers. It took me a long time to figure out that looking at other people’s work is not cheating but a normal step in the creative process of any artist. You shouldn’t steal from another artist but you can admire their work – humans inspire each other and that is something beautiful!

Most of the time, the good stories are the ones you can relate to. The ones you have a personal and unique perspective on. I always write the best things, when I allow myself to be vulnerable. When I am not trying to proof anything to anyone and just listen to my guts.
Don’t rush it! Pay attention to details
My content team and I are busy working girls with full schedules So you can imagine that confessions that are easy and enjoyable to read are our favourite thing ever! So before you click send, make sure you’ve done the following:
- Make sure you do a quick spell-check. I love to keep your confessions as original as possible. The less we have to edit, the better!
- Use paragraphs, punctuation, emojis – whatever makes your confession nicer to read is great!
- You can send us confessions in your native language if that makes writing easier for you – we will do our best to translate it.
Keep in mind that there is a production process behind every movie
If after getting that confession off your chest and getting creative your goal is to have it turned into a movie, then keep in mind that there is a production process behind every movie. For every movie I shoot, I need to find a location, a cast, equipment etc. I work with amazing people who can make nearly anything possible, but we do have our limits. It might help if your confession has a certain theme or setting that makes it unique and feasible to produce.
