On Saturday January 21st 2017, the first day of Trump’s presidency, people all over the world are coming together to march in protest. And myself and my team are joining them!

Join us!

What began as a Facebook post from a female lawyer in Hawaii suggesting women plan a protest around the date of Donald Trump’s inauguration, has now become one of the biggest mass mobilizations in US history. Last year leaked audio of Trump boasting that he frequently abused women and “grabbed them by the pussy” incited yet more anger, fear and revolution from women in the United States. And rightly so!

A man who boasts about sexually assaulting women becoming the most powerful man in the world? Oh God no, please no.

But this march isn’t just about women’s rights. The official organizers, Women’s March, have been super vocal about the inclusivity of the event all over their social media platforms, declaring that the march open will be to “any person, regardless of gender identity, who believes women’s rights are human rights”. In fact, it’s expected to represent the most diverse and progressive amount of social, political, environmental and economical issues to date. Supporters and marchers are fighting the good fight for everything from global warming, immigration and prisoner’s rights to healthcare, abortion rights, free press and gun safety laws.

This effect has spread like wildfire, not only with the 300+ separate local marches happening inside the US; there are also now over 30 different countries worldwide organizing events of their own. Including my very own, beautiful Barcelona! If you or anyone you know lives in Barcelona I encourage you to march with me! This week, women in Spain have been standing up for themselves. Much like the woman below who protested the unveiling of a Trump waxwork figure in Madrid.

We must stand together with our sisters in the US. And you don’t need to be cis-female to do so! Just like in Washington, this march is a call-to-arms to all our allies. Whether you’re male, female, LGBTI or Q, we need to stand together. Don’t forget to wear bright colours. People are even making bright pink “pussy hats” for the occasion! You can find all the details and join this extremely important cause via the Facebook page. The full list of marches happening throughout the world can be found on the official Women’s March on Washington Facebook page. See you there sisters, brothers and all genders!
